Palladium…..The Tough and Sensitive Metal of Choice
November 8, 2011 By Nancy No CommentsAre you tough on your jewelry, but can’t afford platinum? Palladium is fast becoming the metal of choice for growing number of fashion-forward jewelry designers and is less expensive than platinum or gold.
Palladium is a rare and lustrous silvery-white metal that is one of the elements known as platinum group metals. Those who are allergic to some other metals will appreciate the fact that Palladium is considered pure because it gets its color and luster from nature. Other metals that are not naturally white are mixed with nickel to appear white–nickel can cause allergic reactions.
In addition, the vast majority of platinum in the United States is mined at the Stillwater Mining Company in Montana. Still water received a reward for its green mining practices.
