For more than 76 years, Colonial Jewelers has been grateful to call Frederick home. We believe in giving back to the community that has supported us for generations. Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of local organizations, both big and small, and it’s always been important to us to help raise awareness and funds for causes that make a difference right here in our hometown any way we can.

The Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund was established in 1999 by Jeff and Patty, after Patty's diagnosis of breast cancer. After having to travel to and from Baltimore for treatment, the fund was established to provide the most innovative options in early detection and treatment of breast cancer for the Frederick community. Since then, contributions from the Fund are helping save lives locally. Every dollar donated to the Fund is used for local direct patient care and there are no administration costs taken from donations.
For over 25 years now, millions of dollars have been raised through community support for the Fund and it's events.

The Em(brace)let program began during the global pandemic in 2020 as a way to give back to our community while we were not allowed to open our doors. The first few charities that participated in the program were those working diligently to provide essential services to our community during this time. We have since expanded the collection and now work with over twenty local charities, and continue to expand our partnerships often. 100% of the profits from each Em(brace)let goes directly to the charity it represents.
